Hi,
I want to lower my cab, but just the front.

The back seems low enough as standard but the gap at the front between the wheel and arch is alot bigger.

Being a cab, are the springs any different from the saloon?
Also, how much lower can I go without scraping the wheels on the inner arch?

I have seen some springs sets on ebay, but I just need the front, and not the set with the back springs, can the front springs be bought seperate?

Convertible and Touring springs are different IIRC. They also have 51mm struts.

What size wheels have you got on the car at the moment? My cab below is lowered 40mm all round on 17" and no rubbing issues at all.

I have 225x45x16 tyres on it.

You say cab and touring springs are different, but are the cab springs the same as the saloon?

What do you mean by 51mm struts, which bit is 51mm?

Many thanks..

You should be fine with a 30-40mm drop all round.

I don't think they are, cab springs are stronger due to extra weight of the cab. Cab and touring use specific springs due to extra weight.

51mm struts/shocks, there are 2 sizes with the other being 45mm.

Great, thanks for your help.

Do you know where I can get some springs for my cab?

I used -60/40mm H&R Cup Kit with 16" Alpinas that rubbed on the back.

I then changed to -30mm Springs with Cup Kit shocks and 15" BBS and that sorted it.

You can get the springs from the Zone Shop.

Most people on here will advise you to go with a Bilistein shock/Eibach spring kit. This kit will cost you about £400 i think. There was a company on here that advertised but has now been removed, try www.evolve.com

The kit i have got cost me £140, Hottuning Suspension kit. If your on a budget then well worth a try, i've had no problems so far
