I drive a 318 M40. Recently while driving into town the temperature gauge went sky high upto the red zone, so I popped all the heating switches to max in the cabin, to bring the dial back to normal. Drove to GSF and got a new thermostat, an 88 or 92? I don't know an 88 thanks.
Went home fitted it and now the temperature gauge takes ages to get up to normal and its below where it was before I changed the original thermostat.
I have bled the system, completely over the last week.
Is it something to do with either an 88 or a 92 thermostat?
