The 6 pot motors use stiffer spring ratesm4xos wrote:its still a baby m3 tho, i swear you can use them 4 front springs!!!!town325i wrote:no they wont be as heavy duty as the 325i springs as the is is only a 4pot
Std 4 pot springs will only lower the 6 pot but not stiffen up the suspension, hence not advisable

Taken straight from ETK.....
320i Touring front springs listed for self-levelling rear suspension - part no. 31 33 1 130 043
318iS (all except aircon) front springs - part no. 31 33 1 130 043
Go figure.... Works perfectly well on my 320i Touring sans self-levelling. IIRC, front suspension with settled at -20mm when I fitted them.
If it's good enough for BMW, it's good enough for me.

Just checked again and that same spring is listed for 320i 2-door with MTech suspension.
On the 325i, the MTech springs are the same as the 320i/318iS with aircon. Ergo, the 325i springs are marginally stiffer - but not all that.
I wouldn't hesitate to use the 318iS springs on a 325i. After all, how much heaver is a car with aircon? 30kg?
I hope this all makes sense and is of some help.
Stuart.
