Bit of a strange one this. My standard 91 IS has developed a noise that sounds like a relay clicking that increases / decreases with speed. Its not related to engine rpm and doesn't matter which gear its in, only the overall speed of the car. The noise seems to come from the transmission tunnel area near the gear shifter. Anyone got any ideas before I go mad and start ripping it apart? :x

is there any vibration or just clicking?

no vibration, no hesitation nothing different whatsoever other than the ticking noise
