thankyou all for your help. i went to my local halfords and they did not have any compression gauges in stock so i could not do it today. BUT i changed the power boost valve to the original bosch fuel pressure regulator and guess what? the rough idle has stopped when car is still and i can already see a difference in fuel consumption. car always ran very smooth but now even feels a bit more healthier? anyone want to buy the booster valve? LOL

xx miles per £xx petrol is a very inexact science. If you haven't got an OBC to tell you what your MPG is - fill it up, drive it how you normally do for a week (or it's nearly empty, whichever comes first) then fill it up again.
Then calculate your fuel consumption.....
Miles divided by number of litres to re-fill the tank multiplied by 4.546 to give actual MPG.
