easy one for someone who knows but i have not played with the early engines much.

no pick sorry but i said it was easy:

the pipe on the rocker cover. it runs under the inlet mani but then goes no where :?

said its an easy one :roll:

i have been trying to find engine pics but to do that at work the server i use is deathly slow.

the pipe off the rocker cover, its about an inch thick

breather it goes to inlet mani to the idle control valve i think

On the M20 the rocker breather connects to the side of the throttle body, next to the water heating pipes.

It's a breather pipe and goes under the inlet manifold to the throttle body (side nearest the front of the car)

oh man that engine is as sweet looking as the exterior!!! please dont drop a m30 in that its too perfect!!!


on that pic its the one in the rocker head cover near the back of the engine.

so it goes into the inlet mani? guess there is a place under there somewhere!?!?!

one question, off topic but this pipe on my friends car was connected to the throttle body cover and has now cracked. its going to be changed asap but just wondering the symptomps of this pipe not connected? rough idle, petrol consumption, power loss etc things like that

You will have an air leak, like when you remove the oil filler cap.

look closely at your pick and you can see it above to the left of the bmw logo on your rocker :P
