Howdy,

I'm just about to get stuck into my restoration of a 1990 318i (M40). Picked it up for $300.

So far I've ordered/replaced:

Top/Bottom radiator hoses
Radiator
Thermo fan clutch
Inner door handle surrounds
Brake pad wear sensors
Distributor cap
Distributor rotor button
Thermostat
Wiper blades
Side markers (indicators)
Seatbelts
Window winders
Brake light switch
Engine mounts
M-Tech II front bar
M-Tech II rear bar
M-Tech II side skirts

I am currently chasing:

A decent gear knob
A decent steering wheel
Window/door rubbers and window glass weather strips

....and here it is, in all its "before photo" glory. Remember, it was only $300!

Welcome!
That is a pretty good score!
What’s the plan for it?

Yeah I couldn't believe my luck!

I thought my E66 740Li was a good score for $5k, but the E30 for $300 made my day.

New paint and wheels, new carpets and an overall refresh.

I will be keeping the M40 for now, until it breaks, or I get bored.

It's a fairly tidy car inside (apart from the carpet) and it's manual.
