Just today we've lost Stirling Moss, Tim Brooke-Taylor and Peter Bonetti, and yet Trump and Johnson are still around. There's no justice.

So with Jet black retying in 2016, Hugh Cornwall left in 1990 ,that just leaves JJ to fly the original band members flag.

I kinda lost interest in the Stranglers after Hugh left. It was a bit like The Jam carrying on without Weller, the songs are still great but without the original singer the magic is gone.

You’ve hit the nail on the head.After the sad death of Dave Greenfield the other day,my stranglers bug has reared its head.I had a look on YouTube and found “1990 The Stranglers at Alexandra palace” it must have been one of Hughs last gigs.Get a set of good ear phones and crank it up,and listen to that JJ base, orsum.
