Guns and Licencing

Anyone on here shoots, was thinking shotgun licence but it seems that the licensing laws have been relaxed so was going to go for a full firearms cert.

Nephew is licensed and apart from a few other toys has a Mag Fed Webley Shotgun, not bad for £300 and he modified it for the better.

Aunt had a Webley .38 in her possession until last year which came as a shock lol as well as the 200 rounds of ammunition. Long story.

Shotgun cert easy enough, firearms whole different ball game.
Which laws have been relaxed? Are you sure you are not confusing that with the changes to vermin shooting situation?

I'll be surprised if they will grant you a firearms certificate unless you personally have access to a LOT of private land to shoot on, or are a member of a local gun club.
I think it also depends on where you are based too as licenses in each county are regulated by the police constabulary.

Nephew shoots at a club in Surrey and it seems certain weapons are allowed there, he knows his stuff as he's an ex RN weapons tech and he works as a gun designer for a gun makers.

I also have the chance to buy a Beretta 692 at a decent price.
