Baby/child seat.. Maxi-cosi Axiss...

Not sure what category to stick this in really, or what the chances are, but wondering if anyone has any experience with the maxi-cosi axiss car seat (3 point belt, not isofix!)?????

Looks good to me, but can't actually find one in a store to look at!
I mostly have older cars so 3 point fitment is a must and this has a twisting base to save my back slightly!

Only real concern is, having spoken to a lot of people (sales) and getting a lot of different opinions, I spoke to a lady who seemed to know the seat well, (does seat fitting at mothercare) and she advised me that you need to have a flat back seat with no bucket at all and if the seat belt buckles have any significant extension, or are on stalks, the seat will get caught and not lock straight ahead!!!

Not having the e30 with me, I can't remember if the seat belt buckles are bedded in the seat or are 'loose' on a cord, etc?
Also wondering the same for e34's as I've been considering picking one up!!!

Any thoughts welcome!!!!!
Rob.

the last kids car seat i had in an e30 (my 2 door sport) was a recaro one from halfords & it fitted just fine in the back, only sold it because my son got to big for it.

also, the rear belt buckles are on a cord& have a bit of give to them.

Hmmm, it's the belts being on a cord that worries me!
Car not with me to test at the moment, even if I could find one to test fit!
Shame, 'cos I was ready to pull the trigger while there's a nice discount available.

Guessing I'll have to start my research over again, again!

I bought a fixing kit for an isofix system for about £15 which only takes two bolts to fasten in but I have not fit it in yet (broken bones etc ) but I will be putting one in the wifes golf as well if I stay in one piece.lol winkeye winkeye

I've seen some of those kits from googling, but I'd be a bit worried about the plate it's made from, taking the force in an accident!!!
That and obviously finding a good mounting point in the car to mount it to!!!

I understand your aprehension but the plate is @3mm thick more than enough, and I will mount it to the bulkhead in the Baur and the split seat in the polo .
The iso-fix in my e46 coupe are just two U shaped bars welded to the split seats and are very strong.
