I think it was in 1999 that I went s I had a friend who worked at an agency and as they had bands playing she blagged me 6 free tickets, lots of happy mates and as I was working at Virgin Records at the time they got me in to the semi VIP camping area, was nice to be able to park the car 50 yards from the tent. Ivan the maintenance guy also got up early in the morning and was making us egg and bacon rolls.

On the poster you can see my tent quite easily lol.

Don't think I'd bother now though.

like you two the last time i went was in the late 90's.

but now it is a complete rip off, ticket prices have gone through the roof year after year,
what originally started as a festival for the hippies in the 60's where it was about the music, the atmosphere, & the "0ne love" experience is now all about the money, a multi million (if not billion) "experience".

all it seems to attract now of the over privileged, upper middle classes can brag about "glamping" in a perfectly manicured field while drinking prosseco & then 6 months down the line still be wearing the wrist band & gloating about the "experience" they had.

it's so far removed from what it started out as it's a joke.

reading & leeds festival seem to be going the same way.

the only music festival i try to get to now is download, yes it can be expensive but at least you get some proper music not some processed crap they call music.

i wish i could go back to the 90's & the illegal raves back then, so much better than todays shyte.

I was in a pub years back by Royal Oak in London and some twat was on about going to Glastonbury in a Winnebago, I shed a tear in my beer and just took the piss out of him at the bar.

Just remembered it was Ivan the maintenance man, walked in to his "den" and he is sat there with a split sharing it with Shaggy brewing mulled wine at Christmas not much got done that day as I spent two hours getting off my head......... was handy as he also freelanced at a load of clubs in the West End so free entry especially at the gigs at the Cafe de Paris.

Thats another story......

You’ll never get to see everything it’s so big.seen so many strange people one sticks in my mind a boy about 8 eyes wide and bloodshot think he was high on smoke quite disturbing
Remember soaking up the leek in my tent with bog roll Probably the most under rated item in a camping trip.
