Rats c*cks, £50 down and this time its not Ebay/Paypal!

I can't believe it, I'm so careful, I check almost every note I take.

But I was at a toyfair a couple of weeks ago, selling old toys at Sandown swapmeet, Dinkys, tinplate, that sort of stuff, and in a busy time I must have taken in a dud £50 note. Trouble is, Ive narrowed it down to 4 buyers, all of whom I know, 2 British, 1 French, 1 Dutch, but which one.

Says on the internet that 95% of people who pass a dud note know it. Grrr!

I won't be passing it on.

Yes I would say the bottom is fake, there is more detail in the top one

So that's what a £50 note looks like...

And therein is your problem. :D

Wife was doing a jewellery fair last weekend and took off one guy £300 in fifties! Then text me worried that they' be moody!

As it happens, the bank confirmed all was well but we are looking at these:

Before the Uv light test I thought it was decent to be fair, never understood fake 50s, every foooker checks 20s now let alone 50s! Unlucky matey!

I change a lot of cash into Euros for my European forays, and Tesco, Ruislip Currency Exchange and the bank check every note, even £5's under the UV. Even shops these days use the pen to test the paper, so passing it on is not an option for me, and I wouldn't do that to a normal punter anyway.

Bugger!

Lower note depicts a rather pudgy-looking Queen's head, but otherwise they are very convincing - easy to see why they can be passed off as the real deal.

Always struck me as odd that the forgers do a cracking job on the rest of the note, then almost deliberately put in a dodgy detail. :?

If you deal with cash a lot its easy enough to tell a fake note just by touching it.
Everyone has an off day though, bad luck

That's what made my decision, definitely an odd expression!
