Thoughts on this please zoners?

Looks like it could need a bit more than just a respray, the area around the rear boot seal looks to be on its way. However, the car does have plenty of other stuff going for it and I'm tempted to make an offer.

Needs a bit of work and that engine bay
It has been next to the east coast for at least 10 years so needs to be seen first I think.
Mart.

looks like it could be a decent project for the long term,
from the pictures the cills will need looking at soon enough as will the drivers side rear arch.
as mart says that engine bay

looks like a fire extinguisher has been set off in there.
if you're close enough go have a look at it in the metal & go from there.

Thanks mate, I'm actually just up the road from you so it'd be a remote buy probably. Seller going to strip that rubber boot seal and send me some pics at the end of the week but I'm thinking its definitely going to need a fair bit of remedial work.

no worries,
remote buying (buying blind in essence) is a bit sketchy,
fingers crossed it's just the pics that make it look bad,
but it does look like it could be the basis of a decent project & wouldn't need too much doing to it.

Buyer sent me a few more photos, seems that rear boot area has had some previous poor repairs (filler & fibreglass), so not sure if it's worth the £5500 asking price.

Yes, think you are right, definitely needs to be seen first.
