E30 Zone

These came off my sport last weekend....



Talk about being rotten,couldn't even tell,the kit was hiding it,the rest of the arch has fresh paint!
Lucky for me ,my sills are fine!
Other holes/rust found so far,two rear arches replaced,drivers inner arch,passenger side jacking point,big hole where the washer bottle sits....

I bought the car for 3k,it looked stunning,the battery tray is fine along with the scuttle,still it's going to be painted the weekend,so should be back on the road within two weeks

I strongly suspect I have the same nightmare lurking beneath the kit on mine. Found this beneath the rear numberplate trim last week

LOL,i took the sport off the road in december,i'm really missing it now,but still can't beleive how rusty it was,even my MG Montego Tubo wasn't as rusty!!!!

oh bugger, on the bright side, less weight go faster.

ouch at the wings, the 325i my husband bought on monday had wings that looked ok, but one firm poke and his finger went through it!


off topic a second, how much would that rear panel be? as our m40 is a bit rusty but not worth spending a fortune

Rick325iSport how did you replace the rear arches? whole panel or cut out just the arch? do you have any pictures?

i'm stating rust removal on my 320 saloon soon and any pictures pointers gratefully recieved

ox blood leather!

My friend cut the arch out,to be honest my arches weren't too bad,it was just what was underneath them that was!

I'll have a look to see if iv'e got any pics,iv'e got quite a few of the rust!


Yeh the ox blood or cardinal red leather whatever it's could is great,my dream E30 interior.
If i ordered a sport back in 89,it would off been Diamantschwarz black with red leather,only thing i want to add to my sport now is OBC,and air/con would be nice!
