nuts

Whats the most awkward, most knuckle bleedin nut you have tried to get undone on your e30
name and shame em fellas

ive got 3 slightly rounded ones on my exhaust manifold.

has to be diff bolts, ow and a rounded steering rack bolt :lol: drill bits are great

rear right petrol tank bolt.
broke the top nut welds.
couldnt grind it off for fear of explosion
couldnt use a blowtorch for fear of explosion.
ended up using a hacksaw (which took hours to cut)

The bolts around the bell housing!!! :-x to get the gear box out they were realy realy tight!

Undoing the dizzy bolts with a p1ssy spanner as I didn't have a socket to fit,kept cutting my hands up on the fan blades :cry:

Left front lower control arm the 22mm nut for the inboard balljoint in the sub frame....... ouch.

Top nuts on the diff.....managed to pull a car off trolley jack and axle stands trying to undo them :eek:
Qh and manfold nuts on a engine Zaust had complete bastard, the nut that is ,not Marc

M20 B20 top starter motor nut and bolt, didn't loose any blood, just my temper :o:


Other than that theres that clip on the gear selector..... :x

got to be the inner ball joint nut on the front o/s with a 6 branch fitted or it could be the steering knuckle with the 6 branch fitted.

I think that's the one for me too. Wrecked my hand's and your too if I rememer. I gave up I banged the back of my hand so hard. ANd the nut never rounded off.

Oh boy do i remember, can,t believe i forgot having to lay under my car with a junior hacksaw blade and cutting through 3 rounded manifold nuts.Took a week and it pissed down every evening.Happy days :)

front wheel bearing nut, bent a 5 foot scaffold bar, broke my wratchet, broke a T piece bar, and ended up using a chisel and lump hammer, only one hit on the thumb :x and after a few frantic minutes cracked the nut off.

didn't like that nut!

mmmmmmm...... the worst for me was trying to undo a rear shock(the bottom bolt) it was a @unt to say the least!

Not a bleeder but a pain none the less has to be getting the bottom nuts back on the throttle body with all the pipes in the way, i must have dropped it ten times :x

Put a dab in the socket and it will hold the bolt untill its threaded :wink:

I used a 12 foot scaffold pole on mine,total over kill,but got the bastid! :twisted:

Had to replace a front wheel bearing last week, luckily my dad had just wound up his business as an independent garage and gifted me all his tools :)
24" long, 3/4" drive ratchet made very short work of it :twisted:

The only ones that have ever given me real trouble were :
Driveshaft nut on a trailing arm not currently attached to any vehicle - the only way to hold it still was to park the car on it!

Another trailing arm, this time the bolt that passes through the bush, holding it onto the rear beam. Would not move; had to be cut through with a hacksaw blade. Took about an hour :cry:
