My 150£ bargain

A little hello from the cold country of Norway.
I recently got this little diamond for as little as 150£....
It's a 1988 325Ia with a broken slushbox, needless to say, a manual is going in....
First goal is to get rolllin' and pass our MOT, then the bodywork. Has got a few rust spots here and there, but the body is in overall good shape.
Engine's covered roughly 170000kms, and all adult owners, just 2.
As i picked "her" up:

Proper towtruck:

After a thorough clean:

Welcome to the Zone! Nice looking find - proper sleeper. By 325Ia do you mean the early high compression 25 6E engine? Has the same (rare) non-smiley projector headlamps as my previous '88 325iSE

No, it has a standard track and no plastic arch extensions. Scandinavian market cars sit a bit higher anyway.

The caddy is'nt that bad at all, but its gotta go,

These two needs attention aswell:

And my sorry mk1 GTI:
I am not sure witch engine its got, but I belive its the low compression engine.
Also I wonder, does it come equipped with an LSD since its got a slushbox?

Check the engine block to the right of the inlet side engine mount or look at the VIN plate on the radiator support panel; if it says 25 6E, you have high compression, if it's 25 6K it's a low compression.

Yuhuuu, it's go the 25 6E engine, but I have no clue if I could tell the difference from the 6K engine...
Bought and picked up a sports interior yesterday, getting it cleaned tomorrow, and there will be pics!

I think it's a bargain although it will cost me 5x more to get her rolling again.
Gearbox and all other parts needed arriving from Denmark next week.
Does anyone have any experience with B&M 's shortshift kit? thinking of getting one of those.

Just buy the shortshift kit from BMW. It's not expensive at all.

There are plenty of rusty E30s in Britain, let alone going to Norway to buy one
