E30 Zone

Hi What tyre would you use on your car out of these.

Bit hard to say, really...
Toyo T1S is an old model/design...current on is T1R..

Not tried the Avon ZV1, but the ZZ3s aren't bad.

Last Hankooks I had (can't recall the model) on my E34 were appalling, especially if it was wet or slippery!

Again, not tried the Yoko A539, but I used to use Yoko S02s on my 325 and they were fantastic...Unfortunately the S03s (current version) aren't as good so I opted for Toyo T1Rs on the 325 and Avon ZZ3s on the M3 (with Toyo R888s for track use)...

Not a lot to choose between those two, tbh...The ZZ3s are (marginally) better in the wet, but the Toyos are mighty in the dry, if a little lacking in straight-ahead "feel"

SO2 are made by bridgestone not yoko,

alot of the guys at work really rate the hankooks,( and they slated me something chronic for buying michelin pilots ) i reckon they're either on drugs or they dont drive enthusiastically, plus modern cars are built to be idiot proof not like the e30 which you have to show respect to.

I disagree...I had ZZ1s on my M3 and I replaced them with ZZ3s cos the ZZ1s are an old model, now...

Gotta say that the ZZ3s are not at all bad...certainly bearing the price in mind...
They wear well and are good/very good in the wet, even on a streaming surface...

I'd say the Toyos get more heat in them on a dry surface and have huge amounts of lateral grip...However, they wear faster than the Avons and they don't "feel" as good...The Avons have great feedback and are very predictable..

Sure there are higher performance tyres available, but at a much higher cost than either of those two...

The other one I'd recommend in the mid-price field is the Falken ZE512. Again they wear fast, but they are pretty excellent in the wet and not too shabby in the dry, either.
One of the most predictable and consistant road tyre I've had, probably ever...

Given free choise, none of the above would be my vote, but of those I'd take the Goodyear. My preference would be Bridgestones and as mentioned by Fushion the SO2s were excellent, but the SO3s are good, much quieter than the old SO2, but they take a bit of wear before they give there best

id buy pirelli p-zero over any of those. but as its not up there i would say GSD3

to me depends on how you want it to handle,pointy,or loose? i prefer very loose and the westlakes on the back of my 2.5 tourer help me to express myself very well!!!!!!

I didn't vote, mainly because i can't say as iv never used any of the above. I don't buy tyres for my cars anymore, although i have some sporty avon's on the front at the minute and there pretty good.

I wouldnt pay money for any of those shoddy excuse for a tyre

toyo t1-r used to be my tyre of choice but i recently switched to dunlop sp9000's which offer as much dry grip as the toyo but has greatly improved the wet grip. slightly more expensive than the toyo at just under £80 each for a 205x40x17 but worth it without a doubt imo.

Toyo's if your on a budget and Eagle F1s if you have a bit more money to spend.

the bridgestones are the best tyres i,ve used but thats on the sub the michelins gave me really bad understeer was happy enough with the uniroyals on the bm dunno what ill go for next.

My choice if money were no problem would be Bridgestone's but I'd go with the Toyo's as a cheaper second option.

Falken Z tyres are very good, as are toyo's.

I found avon ditch finders rubbish - too hard for UK roads

I voted the goodyears as i've had a set on an RS turbo and were great. My current bus has Continental sportcontact2's and are awesome! They are also standard fitment on some porsche 997's and Megane 225's.
Michelin pilot exaltos (replacement for the pilot sport) were on my BBS prior to the alpinas and i thought they were good to.

i like the toyos good price,, grip so well in the dry and not to bad in the wet!!!!! good all round tyres

i have had toyo t1-r's and to be honest i wouldnt buy them again. they wear to fast and are bunk in the wet but are awesome in the hot days but lets face it we dont get many of those here.

Which size would you go for out of these choices 195/45/15 or the correct size of 205/55/15.
The tyres will possibley go on my 15" BBS or my OZ Racing wheels.
I have not decided as yet.
The wheels i have got on at the moment are 16" Grafite black Fox racing six with Goodyear F1 GSD2 205/45/16.
If and when i change these i wll try Pirelli p-zero's as they also come in 205/45/16.
My BBS have got Ventus K102 and FateO AR550 Advance. Never heard of them.
I will have to admit in my eleven years of driveing i have only wore one set of tyres.
First set were pirelli P600. 185/60/14 still have them. £5 each if intrested.
Second Goodyear F1 GSD1. Bald all over. Closer to slicks in the end.
All my otther tyres have come on cars i brought.
Price wise is not a consideration.
Most important thing on your car is the tyres.

Goodyear eagles are good from the choice above but as Fuzzy said as well as alot of other reconmendations I've heard, SP9000s are supposes to be a very good tyre.

205/50 R15 is a good size for 15s
