New ride, diversifying from the e30!

Cos im a bit of a speed freak and like my power ... I decided that the m44 was never going to give me what i wanted no matter how much money was thrown at it. Hense the purchase of a new beast.

I went from the e30 'is' to my e36 'is' for about 8 months but went back to the e30 as had always been my favorite!! Part of the purchase was funded by selling my E36 which is a good thing, good riddens!!

I really need to sell the E30 aswell, but i don't want to as i kinda got a soft spot for it!! Will have to keep you updated ...

If your interested i just got myself a 1995 Toyota MR2 GTS, it was imported 7 weeks ago with a mileage of 37k and a full service history.
It is running at 293bhp and is very fast. Not driven next to anything i can't beat yet

ItÔš's a bit juicy on the fuel but the smile it puts on my face makes it well worth it!! Kinda like when I first got into my e30!!

it does look good i got to be honest. my mate has the t-bar version and i got to say i prefer without t-bar. it does look good with t-bar but when its off and at high speeds its very unstable.

I looked at a good few of them, this being about Ԛ£500 more than the rest at Ԛ£6.5K but it was by far the tidiest with no marks or scratches on it. Engine purrs ... practically perfect in every way, hard to believe its 10 years old. happy to pay the extra for the condition throughout.

Also had 8 services at toyota in japan ... works out at a service every 4750 miles, not bad.

It came with loads of extras as had to be made standard for SVA test to be UK registered ... includes full standard suspension kit with practically brand new dampers, spare standard intercooler, a standard clutch and list goes on.

Its got 4 new tyres on it and was serviced a few weeks ago at Toyota.

Has a triple plate racing clutch, short throw stick, cusco coilover suspension (adjustable in ride hight and dampening), HKS wastegate, HKS intercooler, ceramic intercooler pipes, samco connecting hoses, HKS mushroom air intake, stainless exhaust system, HKS fuel cut defencer, de limiter and more ....

Closest match i had was on Tuesday morning on the way to work where a E46 M3 pulled up next to me at the lights, i was reving the car up to hear the turbo (novelty thing :D ) and the driver look across at me with a look on his face as if to say u sad pathetic little boy in your 1.8 or something ... little did he know!! lol,

The lights turned amber and we both planted it, was pretty even through 1st being dead level but as soon as i changed and the clutch bit, i lept half the car ahead, the turbo came back in and by the time i had to change his front bumper was level with my back bumper and we had caught the car ahead .... not a happy late 40's M3 driver ... beaten by a 20 yr old in a 10 yr old little jap sports car.

Muhahah

Nope, someone a friend of a friend knows who wanted a cheap weekend car and got stung with the costs for testing and labour and second hand standard parts ....

I thought it was only a few hundred but its all gone up in price ...

Typical hairdresser reason to want a car... :gay:

In fact, almost as :gay: as this thread in general! :jester:

(edit: still a very nice car though Matt! )

Nice mr2 matt, and 293bhp  Power aside,i believe that there is a similar comparison with the argument that the e30 bmw is more a purist car than the e36,and the mk I toyota mr2 is superior in handling to the mk II.Mate of mine has a mk I MR2 and he's always raving about how mk II MR2's are not as good.Mind you the mk 1's like the e30 rust like fcuk also lol.

I totally agree the E36 won't ever be a classic car like the E30. My dads got a E36 318is and I really do think it's pants compaired to my motorsport, even my E46 323i is not as good to drive!

Don't get me wrong as i do have respect for other cars such as the VW Golf. But personally (spelling), I would never have on of those awfull cars, and i know some of them handle well but, they are still s**t, in my opinion (spelling),

FWD Wrongness!!! I will never surender to it!!!

They never did rev1 or 2 turbos in that colour, it was inttroduced for the rev 3s onwards.

I think 1995 would maes matts car a rev 3.

is it rare for rev3 tho, i am trying to remember if i'm thinking of this or another car...but i can only think i'd have been talking about gt-r's...and that colour isn't really rare, but it was only available after 99 (on the r34 - me assumign it looks like bayside blue  )
