hi guys bought my first e30 last weekend! after stripping of the mtech kit i found alot of rust the drivers side wing is rotten, both rear quarters the inner skins are rotten there is also two holes in the rear floor wells and one in the boot ( suppose this is what u get for buying a car in the dark and not looking underneath!!!!) on the plus side the interior is mint checked recaro style the kits in good condition engine and gearbow are very solid and also rear diff feels tight! also it has new adjustable suspension and grooved discs and uprated pads! im so pissd off wanted it on the road for the summer! luckily im picking up another one same colour next weekend hoping i can make one good one out of the two. are these areas prone to rust and how hard is it to find an e30 with a good shell? thanks guys

Sounds like all the usual suspects.

Finding a minty mint shell now days is difficult, it can be done though!

the rear floors go frilly round where the large steel bungs fit and most people just stick a patch over it all unlike myself who bought the bungs and sorted it properly

have a look through my resto thread (link in sig below) and that will show you where most e30`s go, particularly the tech 2 kitted ones. if you need any advice on how to tackle any problem areas properly give me a shout.
