Confused?
Can't recommend it enough recently, if you haven't tried it give it a go
Should be easy to get you a decent quote at your age

Baz - welcome to the zone fella.
I recommend the usual specialist brokers like Adrian Flux, Greenlight, Herts insurance Consultants (HIC). I recently did shome shopping around as i'm with privilege and found Direct Choice (used to be called Taylor Price) the cheapest, they were Ԛ£50 less than Flux.
My mate who owned the car before me had fully comp on it for about Ԛ£300, he is 30.
I'm 30 and missus as a named driver who is 27, I was a very good boy and declared all the mods, even chip and cam and i estimated power at 200bhp, it was more than I expected at Ԛ£450 fully comp with full NCD.
If you have any mods done to the car then you are best using the specialist brokers I have mentioned above, plus any others that advertise in the likes of max power or any other mods magazines. Some of the direct insurers like Privilege, Admiral, Bell Direct may be competitive if no or very few mods.

I was with HIC when my sport was on the road.
My last quote for it at 23 with 5yrs NCB was Ԛ£400ish tpft. That included lowered suspension, aftermarket alloys, performance exhaust and air filter- they cover all that as standard, but you must tell them if its fitted. That price also covered me to drive other vehicles as well.
You may be able to get cheaper cover if you shop round, but find out what extras it covers.

One point to remember, if your car is in good nick and cherished like most of those on this forum, is, if you go for comprehensive insurance, to either have an agreed value, or the right to retain the salvage if it is written off.
On an ordinary policy, with the insurance co keeping the wreck, they will pay out peanuts for an E30, and they will write it off for almost insignificant damage.
OK for me, 'cause I get the chance to buy some of these wrecks. Best one was a 325SE in perfect condition (except for the dented rear wing), with loads of dealer invoices, almost full dealer service history, new discs and pads all round four months before, and an engine with a brand new head and cam fitted six weeks before.

I was serious, they found me a quote fully comp with me as a named driver on 2nd year of driving for Ԛ£617 which I thought was very decent considering all other quotes had been about Ԛ£1k.
Maybe not then!
Who are you with Jamie? Might give them a try first

Chiiill Winston

I'm 23, & pay Ԛ£300 (still tpft for a couple more months

) on a 325i convertible - 2 groups higher than a saloon!

All is well, run a request through confused.com last night, 24, no NCB (but a named driver for 5 years with no claims), annual mileage of 10,000, best quote by FAR was Lancaster Insurance at 632 pounds !although I put the value of the car at 800 and the total excess was 895, higher than the value of the car

, but it's better than paying silly premiums when you might never claim anyway..IMO

Ԛ£2620 isn't too bad, considering!
You'll be earning some NCB having it in your own name at least so it'll be a lot cheaper next year.
Fair play for getting to that speed....shame you didn't
quite double the speed limit though!
What were you in at the time?
The police sitting on a bridge at 3am on a Sunday morning just proves it's done for money and not safety....lucky you'd not been out on a heavy drinking session on Saturday night though!
Jamie cheers for that, looks like I'll have to ring around everywhere then!

Give HIC a try on 0845 1290 290. They are usualy pretty reasonable and are ok with mods and the guys there seem to know what you're talking about which always helps!

How much was the insurance on the Capri? And why sell it for the cabby?
