how hard is it?

hi, as above how hard is it to put a 325i engine in a 320i? i have done a fue engine swaps but never ever worked on a bmw before.

200 ish for an ok engine and 300+ for one with a known history.

Just done exactly this only 2 weeks ago. As has already been said, straight swop. The only difference we found was the prop is slightly different, the 325 is slighty shorter (maybe someone will confirm that?). You will need an ecu ( i got one from ebay for £20) and the airflow meter for the 325 (should come with the engine.
Took an 8 hour days worth of work from taking the 320 lump out and have the car running with 325 power, that includes a few tea breaks winkeye ..

If you have done other engine swops, this is a doddle !

yeah mate my old shed was a 320i and i got a late lower comp engine from spadge for £150 and was a straight swap to fit i just left the 320 box and mated the 2.5 to it

is the box the same? i.e ratios and top speed?
