It's effectively engineless which obviously drops the price quite a bit. Although it does look pretty damn tidy.
Hard to value really, but in very very good condition they get around 2k ?
So a bit over 1k maybe?

Yer it a very tidy car, 1K sounds good, i did not think it would make that much

Just an idea mate!
If the shell is really tidy, someone may want to make use of it for a conversion?

to be fair to m1key i don't think that he's tooo far out with 250. a blown top end takes a bit of fixing but a blown bottom end shrinks any car's value considerably. i know this is obvious but it's either a rebuild or an engine change - and if that's the case the v5 has to be updated and it's no longer as original.
i have no doubt that the you'd get more for it in parts then as it stands right now.
if you can find a buyer at more than 250 that's prepared to trailer it away and then invest either some serious time or money into it (or maybe both) then i think you'll have done very well indeed.
the economic reality is a real shame - i'd hate to see that car stripped for bits.

For the money you'll lose selling it as it is you may as well buy a replacement M42 drop it in and sell the car. Isn't really worth much at all as it is, you could get lucky if someones looking for a rolling shell as Is shells are pretty good for conversions.

I not fussed if i dont sell, i will keep it and over time replace the engine with a 6 cylinder, however i would rather sell because im rather busy with work at the moment and dont really want it hanging around until i can fix it. Ԛ£250 is an unrealistic offer, That is the cost of the bbs's.

i think if its as mint as it looks you shouldn't let it go for much less than Ԛ£1k as it would be soo good for a conversion!

Thats right mate, the car is solid as a rock and has many extras. And its ready for a new lump to be thrown in

Although i think you will struggle to find a buyer for Ԛ£1K+
even dropping an m40 in would be an easy option.
if you want a grand for it its gonna need to be running.

Im not after 1000 pound for it
Putting an m40 in it would be worse than no engine at all. ( no offence to m40 owners) but i dont think this iS deserves the m40.
I could break it for a fair amount but dont see the point in this condition.

Ԛ£150 for a
iS engine, your having a laugh. I'll take two off you as spares...
I would expect to pay up to Ԛ£350 for a decent low milage M42 lump

to everyone... ive been and really examined this properly and its very clean and would make a great conversion...however the time and circumstances are wrong for me
reality is though.... car with shagged bottom end =Ԛ£400 engine and at least 1 days labour.....

But you could view it as
Minty fresh iS cԚ£2K
Replacement Engine c Ԛ£400
So in theory Mikes car is Ԛ£1600 worth, knock the labour of paying for an engine swop and the 1K figure seems mogically the max value, establishing a minium value is much harder though
One thing all would agree on is this, its too nice to break,
M52 swop and LSD would be my weapon of choice

just a thought, M42 heads always go so there must be loads of good bottom ends kicking about?!
i can think of 2 or 3 peeps who could help on that front.

Well said there Ant, I will certainly be considering a 6 cylinder engine replacement.
