how hard are they to fit?. do i need to take door cards off or have any technical knowledge at all?....
Im terrible with things like that but i really want remote locking as I have a different key to open drivers door at the mo and its annoying.

anyone know...?... if its only like to wires i think i can handle that

All the wires will be available at the back of the glove box, the prefered installation point of alarms etc on E30's.

It should be fairly straight forward to fit - all you need to find are permanent live, ground and the triggers for lock and unlock.
Fitted a cheap ebay kit to mine and don't think I'd ever like an E30 without

They are usually fitted to a pair of lock/unlock wires behind the passenger side front trim panel, plus a wire for +12V and an earth. Quite easy to fit.

If you can identify colours and follow wiring diagrams, you shouldn't have any problem at all :)

the message poster accepts no responsibility for you burning your car to the ground...

I've got two of these in use at the moment - there was a recent thread on fitting these and a similar kit with lozenge shaped remotes.
The only problem with this kit (if it's the same as mine) is that there's only one output to flash the indicators when you arm or disarm it. To wire to both sides of the indicators you will need a couple of 5A blocking diodes.
I see that the same seller sells blocking diodes (rather expensively), but gives no indication of their rating.

Consider one of these instead: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... IBSA:UK:31
Very similar, but has two outputs for the indicators.
Just bought one, but not fitted yet!

Or don't fit them? The central locking is certainly noisy enough to know if its working or not from a suibtable distance, without the aid of lights :)

I didn't bother re-wiring the locking into the indicators when I realised the splice I'd used from the previous owner was made into the indicator stalk wiring loom.. No way was I cutting into my new OBC indicator stalk 8O

well if you bought one i guess its a good idea, i only liked the other one because of the flip key, but these keys look much smarter..
plus when i realise i cant instal it i can find out how you did it!

cheers

The connection to the indicators should be made at a blue/red and a blue/black wire where the go into the big multiplug at the back of the glovebox.
These remotes have a considerable range, so the indicators wired in are useful.

seconded, at £24 its a bargain if the keys have any qualitly to them.
