What to do with passenger door lock?

Some time ago the passenger side lock on my Touring was forced and mangled up pretty bad. It should possible to reform into shape and fit a new barrel. This would mean replacing all the barrels.

I had the idea of removing the barrel entirely and welding a plate to the offending area and finishing it flush to cover the lock.

The door will need a spray whatever I decide to do. Ethically I'm not sure that blanking the lock is the way to go, however it does seem like less hassle. Opinions would be much appreciated.

Thanks

basicly it s up to you if you can weld it up it will save idiots trying to force it open again and give it a nice smooth finish
personaly i never use the passenger side as i always use the dead locks and when these are on you can only open it from the drivers side any way so i dont see the point in the passenger lock

I say flush it.
