E30 in a scrappy AC Schnitzer....

in my local scrappy there is an e30 2dr (325 apparently) definitly an m20 engine. i had the boot of it for mine because mine is going rusty and it had a small AC schnitzer badge on and i thought i was just some muppet had glued a badge on the back.
so i looked over the rest of the car and it has a strange front body kit on it i dont recognise (lower section bumper included and downwards)
it has some silly chavvy wheels on it so i dont think it is anything special.
its on top of another car so i didnt manage to get inside to see if there was anything special inside.
how do i know if this car is just a molested shitter or the remains of something more special?
im assuming for now its just some rudeboy muppet gluing badges onto a base model.

Have a look at the following thread:
http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... ic&t=90758
It shows what the prefacelift and the facelift ACS front kits look like. If the car in the scrappy looks like either of them go back and get it. They're very difficult to find!
I'm assuming you checked for pedals/steering wheel/gearknob?
A proper schnitzer would usually have a different rocker cover too.
Have a look at the suspension. Schnitzer stuff is yellow bilsteins but with the ACS logo on them too. If it has the suspension, you'd be as well taking the ARBs too.

Il have to have another look. wont be for over a week now though. cant get there before then.
the front kit looks vaquely like that one in the thread. the silver one second down, but i cant really remember. only saw the engine from the underside so i didnt see the rocker cover and the i think the seats have been robbed already. cant remember the steering wheel. has red lowering springs and yellow shocks but i dont remember seeing anything written on them.
hold on.... it must be a dressed up 320 because it has rear drums!!! DOH! just i thought its random parts glued onto a shed. never mind.

none the less, if the front bumper is schnitzer i will pay you a handsome reward( if its for a facelift ).

get onto the scrappy themselves mate as they should have the paper work there, as end of life cars have to be reported to the DVAL......he will have the chassis number to hand, instead of clambering over more cars to see it on the car itself !!!!!!
Then get it put up on here and some one will check against BMW system if it is the real McCoy.

Ah this is the last of dying breed of old school scrappy's where they dont appear to have heard of health and safety. its probably quite illegal actually but never mind i for one support them, i very much doubt the guy knows where the logbook is to be honest but i will try.

only the base car will come up on the system mate as AC weren't bmw approved back then. You're only chance is if rossiters kept any records but i don't know. Rossiters are back as the UK source for ACS stuff now again!

act quick if your going for the front spoiler, my local scrappy had a E30 (318) with a full zender kit on it, i got a price for the front & rear apron's and the boot spoiler .. £35!!!

i never had enough cash on me .. so i left it till the next day, got there just in time to see someone else walk out the entrance gate's with it
