E30 Zone

Hello all.

I have noticed that the inside of my car seems to steam up incredibly quickly, could this be due to faulty seals? The other day for example, I parked my car up outside a mates and returned in half and hour to find the windscreen (front and rear), as well as drivers window steamed up. Also in the coldest parts of the UK winter so far, I had ice on the inside of the windscreen as well :s. I have reason to believe the sunroof may not be as tight as it could be, as since i bought the car the motor has been knackered and it doesn't open and close properly, so generally i leave it alone.
When I drove to Reading yesturday any time I got to about 70 on the 329 I could hear the wind really clearly, as if the window were not shut properly. Not only that, but when going any faster than that it seemed as if the window was vibrating rapidly and a loud whistling noise can be heard. Anyone got any ideas??

i have a similar problem on my 318i, i,ve sourced the problem to my driver side window seal, i'm missing a bit on the top corner on the b-pillar side. Saying that my mates e30 has a leaky sunroof that gets very noisy at high speed. are you sure the sunroof motor is knackerd? maybe the previous owner didn't want you to see the corrosion, maybe check fuses/connections to get it workin just have a good look around.

err how about adjusting the glass in the window so it fits?

The sunroof seals are NOT water seals. They are there to stop wind noise.
Water is intended to leak past the roof seal, where it is then dealt with by the drainage system.
Your problem is more likely to be the odd small rust hole in the floorpan making the carpets damp.
If the top of the door seal leaks air at high speed, wind the window down, open the door, and bend the top of the frame in a little.
