I use Maxxis on my bike too. I have to admit I'm a bit sceptical about the car tyres but only because of the price. I've always stuck to Goodyear but now they don't do 205/55x15 at all I'll be needing to find a good alternative.

I've got Maxxis on the back... Acceptable grip levels, have done 2 Ring trips on this pair and a bit of tail-happy action and they're still well treaded. I'd have them again!

Why would you think that? I think you kinda need to realise what drifting is and maybe not look at it in such a negative way. Do you think 600bhp + cars sliding at 100mph+ dont need grip? A lot of drifters in the top english series (EDC) use road legal track tyres. A lot of the tyres they use are exactly what you guys would use on your serious track cars.

As for the maxxis drift tyre, havent had a proper look into it but its what chris forsberg uses in the us and its suppose to be pretty good.

As for it being a preferred tyre of many drift series, in the us and japan(major comps) a tyre company has to sponsor said event/championship to be allowed to be used in that said event/championship.

Just to add, i also ran maxxis on my bmx and street bike a few years ago. I wouldn't use anything else. If there auto tyres are as good as there bike tyres they'll be amezzin
