Is an E30 retro enough for minilites?

Hi, I'm well into my retro motors and currently have the 325 you see in my sig below.

Was wondering what your thoughts were on an early E30 (metal bumper) slammed and cleaned up sitting on 15" minilites? Call it a Euro look but with some English vintage? Anyone seen it done yet?

i think an e30 would set a set of superlites, but with dark centres and polished edges, slammed ..proper slammed not rubbish half slammage. ive wanted to do this for a while..im a 2nd hand wheel buyer though and never see any in the size i want

I reckon if they were'nt chrome they might work.

Maybe some 16/17" Minilites with black spokes on a car really lowered.

I'm loving that Avenger, I had a 1600GT many years ago...

My old man had a brand new 'Tiger' in 1972.

I wish I still owned this one from 1985. (And the genuine 13" Minilites; and the hair. )

Minilites are a bit too 'yesterday' for an E30 imo. :(

I only ever saw one Tiger, was that powered by the Holbay 120 engine.

Proper old school

Originally they were powered by a 1500cc twin DCOE version of the later 1600cc Sunbeam Ti engine.

Mine was powered by a Holbay engine initially. (1725cc Hunter/Rapier GLS Twin 40 Dcoe engine.) Eventually powered by the 'Brazillian block' 1964cc. (170 BHP)

BTT. The original magnesium Minilite company went bust in around 1975 apparently. :(

I assume you're talkin about the henna red e30? It's my old one, now owned by jonmsm who's joined here recently & who still owes me for the car! Anyway, it's getting the m30 this summer probably.

I love the way everyone says it needs slamming - it's already 60-40 I think, & certainly low enough for a road car that's gonna get used on real roads!

When I got my wheels for my 85 323i (about 6 months ago) my father said I should get minilites. I did look into them but decided against them. One of the brands I looked at was Compomotive, they had a wheel called the ML Image or in modula form Image apparently they can be made to order with offsets and stuff.

hmmm, minilites are good wheels, e30's are good cars, however, methinks they dont mix 8O :?

but as was said before, its your car, so the only person who'se opinion matters is yours! DO IT IF YOU WANT TOO :D

guarenteed it'll be individual

does anyone know of a website or of software that exists where you can put a particular type of car up and then just juggle with different sets of alloys?

If one doesn't exist then one damn well should!
