Im assuming its the same as a m-tech1 sport, minus lsd/gearbox and bodykit?

Yeah price is for real but I don't think its worth it.
Though if it sells I'm listing my sport on that site for £10k the very next day!

so if this is worth 3750 then a sport is worth ten grand I don't think so I have had three sports and i wouldn't pay more than a thousand on top of a standard car for one and I would rather have a really good standard car like this than an average sport. As for this car it looks a proper cracker and I would pay around what he is asking for it as i keep saying a good 325 at this money is cheaper than a dog at a grand because it will cost more to get the dog up to scratch. If this is what it claims the lucky buyer will have bought well and will not be out of pocket compared to someone who buys a cheaper car over the long haul.

If its as mint as stated it could be worth near this.
I think as E30 owners we should stop slating e30s forsale, it will benefit all of us

Well i think march was kidding, but i do agree its better to pay a bit more for a btter kept car than buy some old dog sport thats been thrashed to within an inch of its life....i guess the older e30's are becoming rare now and even good standard 325's are hard to find!pnd wrote:march109 wrote:Yeah price is for real but I don't think its worth it.

E30's are of value to people who appreciate E30's. To everyone else they are just old cars (they might appreciate them for the looks and condition, but would they swap their 03 reg Mondeo for one?). You might beg to differ, but by the same token, how much would you pay for a Volvo 240/440? Not much I imagine, though they have a HUGE following and are worth good money to those who like them. The price for that car is unrealistic, and thinking that by agreeing with inflated values will benefit E30 owners is wrong. A car is only worth what someone will pay for it at the top end, and as a form of cheap transport at the other.Mox3d wrote:Quote of the year.oldroydsr4 wrote:I think as E30 owners we should stop slating e30s forsale, it will benefit all of us

we are entitled to our opinion....... the car is overpriced to @uck. its poverty spec isnt too appealing... although the recaros look tidy.oldroydsr4 wrote:If its as mint as stated it could be worth near this.

if this car is overpriced how much has it cost you to get yours to a1 condition? ask yourself then why I say a £3k e30 can be a cheaper and better ownership proposition than a £1000 e30.e30bmlover wrote:we are entitled to our opinion....... the car is overpriced to @uck. its poverty spec isnt too appealing... although the recaros look tidy.oldroydsr4 wrote:If its as mint as stated it could be worth near this.

Depending on who does the work, Mine cost me under a grand in parts (and for the car in the first place), and the work I carried out was a labour of love. I know guys who have spent 70K on a 25K car, so, yes this can be a factor, but I would rather have the enjoyment of restoring the car to A1 condition, and the satisfaction of knowing I did the work, than buying such a car in the first place. If you were into shows and the like, what's the point of winning a concours and knowing that either the car lives in a bubble or that you bought the car just like that? If you are farming the work out at £50 an hour then it's easy to get to £3k.
There are plenty of excellent condition E30's available for reasonable money without having to fork out that amount of cash. My grey 2 door cost me £220 with 100k and one owner with full BMW history from new, my 2 door auto with 114K in excellent nick cost me nothing bar a few hydraulic lifters, a drivers seat and a few bulbs, that I sold to a dealer it was so clean. With so many good to excellent cars about I can't see why one would buy a car at three times the asking price for an equivalent car elsewhere.

I don't recollect actually saying this car was worth every penny myself above. I may have intimated such by acknowledging what I thought was a frickin wise quote. The value is in the eye of the purchaser, however I do stand by the quote. If this general slating of `dear' cars goes on, well you'll have nothing left but a bunch of whiners complaining they can't get what they thier car is truly worth. Somewhere there has to be a compromise, and I have seen a somewhat unsavoury trend toward having a go at otherwise good e30 material lately. I can deffo find other things to do tbh.
FWIW the above car is probably right on the money. Or did we not read about the cars accompanying huge pile of recorded history etc, and the fact that it is pretty much mint as well. The more these factors are present, the less actual age plays a part in it's valuation, and that in everyday BMW enthusiast terms is fact. Those two features alone are what arguably make it worth that bit more than most of the regular cars out there alone. That is my opinion and there ya go.

And you are welcome to it,Mox3d wrote:That is my opinion and there ya go.
My feeling is that if I could buy my car, spend some time and effort on it, and have it in TBMW as a feature car, for under a grand, where does it warrant spending another £2700 for a similar car?
That's my opinion.

THE BMW 3-SERIES. IT'S WHY SOME ENTHUSIASTS ARE MORE ENTHUSIASTIC,
THE BMW 3-SERIES. IT'S WHY SOME ENTHUSIASTS ARE MORE ENTHUSIASTIC,
Despite most of us thinking thats well overpriced i won't be at all surprised it it sells for near that price if it is as good as it looks.
The difference with the £200 bargains people are still finding and this car is that they are being sold by people you just consider it to be an old turd whereas the peron selling the one in the link knows there is a demand from enthusiasts for cars in that condition, hence why he is selling on that site rather than one picture and a sentence on ebay or autotrader. If you look on the BMW car club for sale section people are asking far more for cars than you would expect again because they know there is a demand out there for mint* E30s.
In reality the person who buys that is more than likely going to be in the flat cap bregade not wanting to spend his time maintaining the car and possibly wants it becuase he had one when they were new.
* and by mint in mean looks like it has just left the showroom, not looks mint from a distance but up close there's chips, scratches, parking dents and the odd little rust scab lurking in a corner like most supposidly mint cars turn out to have.

So many people pick up 800 quid 'bargains', then spend 2 or 3k sorting it out throught the next few MOT's. Cheap cars are not often real bargain cars, with a few exceptions of course.
If that cars mechanically sound, and i mean NOTHING wrong, then its worth the money. The average 1.5k e30 these days has so much wrong with it, it will only cost you the extra money to fix it....then theres the question of the body work.
Would i pay it? No, but i can see why people would.

yeah iv spent money on my e30, who the @uck hasnt? this engine swap will have cost me over 1k because i chose to use genuine bmw parts(would have anything else) my e30 is far from mint, the interior is! i will continue to spend money on my e30 because i love it, i have two women in my life. but no matter how mint the car is people will always spend money on them be it putting a m technic bodykit on it or s.e skirts. no point in being the richest man in the graveyard.pnd wrote:if this car is overpriced how much has it cost you to get yours to a1 condition? ask yourself then why I say a £3k e30 can be a cheaper and better ownership proposition than a £1000 e30.e30bmlover wrote:we are entitled to our opinion....... the car is overpriced to @uck. its poverty spec isnt too appealing... although the recaros look tidy.oldroydsr4 wrote:If its as mint as stated it could be worth near this.

that car is probably better than most cars on here! I'd hazard a guess at around 50k miles and I bet it goes well too! I would honestly buy that car.
Look at it this way
pretty much rust free, early shape, nice e30 colour, great seats good suspension money has been spent in the right places and has been looked after all it's life.. worth 3.5k all day long.. It's a specced up 325i.. better than a ragged to death sport and more desirable than a boeing 325i!
