E30 Zone

What do you advise fo 323i trackday pad fitment. discs are all lockheed drilled and vented. standard 325i calipers? Thinking greenstuff

I use greenstuff pads on both cars,but only because the debris washes off the wheels!! I have no issues for road use.You may need a harder pad for trackdays.

I can quite easily cook my Greenstuff on the road, there seems to be quite a small window of suitable operating temperature with these.

I have used Redstuff on another car though and I thought they were much, much better, and they work well from cold too.

I've heard very mixed reviews from EBC pads. Personally I use Mintex Extreme and have been extrememly please with there effectiveness straight from cold. However I have never used them on a track day but my mechanic uses them on his trackday saxo and rates them.

i used to use redstuff ceramic on the front of my touring and greenstuff on the rear to exellent effect and didnt fade on me once even after the hardest of abuse. thet also do work well from cold imo contrary to what ive been told by others.

What about Ferodo DS2500 pads? They're supposed to be really good kit. I'm gonna fit them to mine as soon as the rest of the work's been done.

I've used EBC yellows and they are very good indeed, loads of bite hot or cold.

Glad you rate these Andyboy as i have just bought a set for an E28 M5 for use on the next trackday. I know the E28 is alot heavier but the Red Stuff pads i was using were not up to the job. EBC only recommend yellows suitable for track/race use.

I use Yellows/Greens front and rear.

100% positive from me.

Get a bit of heat happening and cane them. They love it and just keep putting on the stopping power.

My greenstuff actually caught fire after three laps.

Mintex, 1155's are hardcore but sqweek alot on in road use, not strictly road legal but they are fine

The best pads ive used are Pagid RS19´s.
Ive had them on 325´s and my M3 and they are what you get if you order Group N pads from BMW and they are the dogs, but the do scream a lot when cold!!!

Highly recommended. I'm using Ferodo pads for years and never was disappoint.

I use ferodo DS3000 up front and greenstuff rears,works fine. Would ideally have redstuff on the rear but they were out of stock and I am impatient! I have a mate who runs redstuff all round on his trackday 325i with slicks and they work a treat too.

Mintex all day long.
I remember reading that Green Stuff are really good at some marques/applications. Sadly E30's aren't one of them.

Excellent pads, used these on 2 ring trips and had no fade whatsoever, very good for fast road too but they dont last as long as normal pads.

They need a bit of heat to work but only when you first start the car, bit of left foot braking for 10 seconds just after you pull away does the trick.

I agree with that, had them on a couple of cars and was very impressed.
Not impressed with them on my E30!

EBC pads are used by a lot of E30 racers here in Victoria.

There has not be a single complaint that I am aware of.

I use Greenstuff pads on the rear of my E30. They're brilliant.

I prefer Yellows on the front, as they are more track friendly, but there are a few guys in Australia who run trackdays with street oriented E30s with Greens on the front ~ again...those who use them, love them.

I had Greenstuff on my 323i for a while and had no problems with them. Never noticed any fade or problems after about a year of track days and autocross events. BUT when I changed them it was pretty clear they had been overheated so I went with some different ones. The Greenstuff had minimal brake dust though. These new ones are pretty bad for dust.
