Heads up Display possible or not - you decide

please excuse this drunken moment of (in)sanity:

With all the technicians, engineers & mechanical know-how which is spread across this board, I've always wandered how possible it would be to create a HUD.

I am neither of the for-mentioned above, however I have thought that with electronic speedo's and tachometers something modern can be achieved with a retro E30.

I have no way of achieving nor implementing this idea, but I've often wandered if it could be a possibility. There are computer keyboards which can spread an image across any hard surface, so why not use the info presented to the dash in a heads up display?

Its easy to do and you can buy one off the shelf. Defi do them. Here's a direct link to the actualy HUD by Defi

This ofcourse assuming E30's run a pulse signal for the speedo/tacho and not mechnaical

Defi's HUD system will work then. They are very cool bits of kit, though not cheap.

This sorts the problem of where you mount oil pressure/temp! Anyone using one?

Not yet but I will be. A mate of mine has one in his CR-X and its pretty cool. Very clear even during the day too.
