HI everyone,
pretty new to the bmw scene, but looking forward to getting my tech 1 sport sprayed (lach silver) in the next few weeks and on the road,
few questions as i dont really know much about it.
how different is it to a standard 325i??
whats the bhp? cos being 21 years old its going to have dropeed some, so am looking to get it on a rolling road and the tune it.......
which leads me to whats the best options for quick tuning, chips? exhaust? filter? NOS? if so which brands work best.
any help would be a big help.
thanks
Dodge

Dodge,
welcome to the forum firstly!
Good choice on an early (mtech 1 rather than mtech 2) car The engines in early cars have a higher compression ratio and tend to hold their power better thn the later engined cars.
Main differences between standard 325 and a sport..
Close ratio gearbox
LSD
Black headlining
maplights in the mirror
sport seats
bodykit
bhp on the cars was 171 from the factory, although MOST cars are now running 150-160 from common consensus (flywheel figures)
Quick tuning on these cars isnt easy, as the engines are over-engineered and tend to be hard to get power from unless you want to go for forced induction.
A chip will get you 2-5bhp, depending on engine condition.
Exhaust about the same
filte will get you fak all.
NOS is expensive and likes to make engines go bang

Good choice of car there. What he said ↑↑↑.
Nos is fine, as long as you don't use it for long shot's and at time's when there is not much load on the engine.
Welcomke to the zone

Mine had the lot too.. Stripped it out now, put the leather in the touing, but left the cruise control and obc because they are useful. And moved the window switches to the dash.
As for the nos, good for 100 bhp with a controller/stutterer. if you can get it filled up for free the get it. And can you fill mine up to.????
