What do E30 owners aspire to own after their E30?

Just wondering how everyone feels about what car they look to own/run after they move on from their E30?

I like the older style beemers, always fancied the old 6 series, a nice late highline 635 in black, or possibly M6 if I was suffiently flush. Love the E28 shape too.

Had the good fortune to have the free use of an 02 316ti last year, it was a well balanced car but massively underpowered. Also have driven my boss's 645Ci on a couple of occasions and new beemers are just so clinical. Traction control reeling in any fun. After a couple of weeks it became automatic practice to hold down the traction control button for 5 secs to disable every time i got in the car.

Now look at my little Ԛ£500 bargain beauty below. With the bodywork sorted for about the same price, it should be a little minter! Happy Days 8)

Have an Alfa 164 rotting in the garage, wonderful car but don't think i'd go back to that marque.

TVR cerbera/dodge charger 440RT

failing that i'd like to be able to afford aVW type two camper van with a 2.4. type 4 fuel injected engine with a big fat turbo on it!!

also would like an e34 540 v8 or an old rover P5B....

basically anything RWD and with a big fat v8 up front

not really! the M5 is obv faster, but think of all the time you waste stopping for fuel   8O

plus the 535d (twin turbo) is meant to be a bit of a screamer

Zayan, mate, it sort of works but takes absolutely ages to show the pic. Is the photo too big?

As a realistic return to future BMW ownership id look at an E46 330d or the new E90, E60 too big for my liking as an owership prospect.

Gonna be moving onto something small and cheap for the near future tho 8O

There's 1001 cars that I'd love to own, & plenty that I actually expect to at some point! But at the moment I wouldn't say I want anything different! For a fun, practical convertible, I really don't think there's anything else at even close to the price! Especially not that I could maintain myself...

I think it will depend on how old you are at the time of changing.

Heres me 49 next, owned most older type Bm, Have owned my 840 for 3 yrs now, it was a car i had craved for many years but it wasn't enough!!!! . In feb this year i got my 325 sport, OK it needs plenty of work but it is a statment i think that i'm not ready to get OLD !!!!!!!!

Aston martin DB9 would be my choice on the back of a lottery win.

An original E28 with a 3.5 engine (no mods) or a 911S (late '60s /early '70s of course) come to mind. As far as newish cars go, a Lotus Elise or even a Caterham 7 should be a lot of fun too.

Oh, and a Ferrari Dino - the sexiest sculpture of a car ever made. Or any other Ferrari (as long as it's not by Bertone), at a pinch.

Or a Ford GT40. But that's beyond aspiration!!

Got a massive list but top at the moment is a Ferrari 355 :D 8)
