Any idea how rare the h23 is in the UK? I don't have any solid facts on how many H23's were actually produced but i hear they have limited production numbers since they stopped making them to make way for H27 etc.. If anyone has any related info it'll be very much appreciated.
I cannot attach pics for some reason and i do not have photobucket.
Kind Regards,
Nadim

The H23 was the lead Hartge in its day prior to the commencement of the H26.
The H23 had 170ps which came at a price fitted by Birds of over £3.3k in its day. CC produced was 2316 as per normal and the head conversion gave a 0 - 100kmh figure of 7.4 sec whilst the 0 - 1000km was 28.2 sec.
The car came with Hartge finned and stamped cam cover, optional Hartge bodykit (ie front and rear, side skirts and rear spoiler) and the early cars sat on 14 inch BBS whilst the later H23 sported the 7.5 x 16 on Hartge 11 spoke classics. Hartge leather steering wheel and gearknob and again an optional part the mono wiper.
From the archive I dont see any uprgrade in the ARBs which were fitted to H26s and on.
HTH if you have any specific question(s) please fire away !!!

Nadim. That's really nice.
I remember when the H23 was rolled-out. I had always liked the look and spec. of the Hartge BMW's. An H23 would have been my ultimate car back then.
Actually, it probably still is - I still prefer the 323i to the 325i.

Really like that, and by the sounds of it you have most of the hartge goodies too.

Hey guys thanks for the sweet comments, i worked hard to get her into this shape, she's real special to me. Fav thing about the car: The verrry lumpyy idle mmmmm.
HartgeH27: Few more questions for you. :p
-Any idea how many H23's were produced worldwide?
-I have a somewhat unique engine number on my car completely different to any m20b23 engine number i've seen before. Mine only consists of 6 numbers ending in 123. Could this be a sign that it's genuine or maybe just coincidence.
P.S I might have more questions later

And what happened to your number plate? why did you lose the BMW 23H?? Im dreading the ugly plates now!! just don't suit the cars anymore!

Are they genuine gauges someone has ruined with a stupidly sized, spaced and placed Hartge sticker? They don't look very genuine but you are the expert and I don't know jack about hartge.

Hi nadim, or hartge2get, just a question but do you work at Sydney Wide European Autos? Because I was speaking to a guy on the phone there who had restored an e30 hartge a little while ago.

Gareth, they are genuine gauges from a genuine Hartge H27 - owned by Iain, hence his Zone name...
The badge is just Iain's Essex girl bit coming out...
