I paid £1200 four years ago for a poverty-spec. 107k mile 320i Touring on 15" BBS, with 3 broken manifold studs (but almost FSH). :(
I've probably spent twice that on it now :clin: mainly in upgrades.
I don't care..... It never fails to make me smile inside when I'm driving it (done 44k in it now), and it's infinitely preferable to modern s**te.

£500 2 dr 316i 154,000 miles with 15'' BK 388 alloys iirc 6 months tax and 12 months MOT but the front valance was pushed back as the woman that owned it before 'nose-dived' driving through a field! Funniest thing is that I still haven't straightened it out 4 years later!!

£1700 for a 1990 G Plate Alpine/Domestic Appliance White 316i on steels in 2001. Poverty spec but felt like a limo in comparison to my previous Pug 205.

My current 320i cost me £1100.

Most I've ever spent on a car was £8.5K on my E36 5.5 years ago 8O Had my money's worth from it but don't think I'll ever spend more than 3K on a car again.

I bought my first E30 in November 1994. It was a metallic maroon (Burgundrot) 323i on the Y plate with bottlecaps, LSD and sports seats. It was £600 and the head was cracked :D but that was very cheap for an E30.
I used it for a while and although it ran very hot it went and went and went.

The cheapest E30 I had was free, the most expensive about £12'000 for a Sport Evo.

R15 000 South African for a 1987 chrome bumper 4 door 316 carb. That was my first E30, though I had four e21/e28's before that. First ever BMW was 1982 2.0L 518 (twin Stromberg) automatic that was so slow it got bug-splat on the rear window. Cheapest....free.

Similar to my first £800 one! That was supposed to have had a cracked head, but it turned out that the head gasket had been changed by an idiot.
Ran it for two years (until i had a drive in a 325!) and sold it for £1700.

Wonder if there are any Y plate 323i's left, I know mine was starting to rot in funny places back in 94 and must be long gone now!

£150 for a Diamondschwarz (sp?) '88 318i lux 4-door, major rust issues but 7 months MoT, used it until that ran out. Replaced by

£500 Alpine white II '89 4-door 325iSE, very clean and original.
