classic insurance

can i get a 17 year old e30 on a classic insurance, or does it have to be 20/25+ years?
if i can, does anyone know a good company to use?

I almost misread the question too, think he means a 17 year old E30, not a 17 year old driver.
Should be no probs getting an E30 on a classic policy, but usual driver age requirements are normally aged 21+.
Classic policies do not usually earn you any NCD and there is usually an upper limit to the mileage, usually about 6K a year.
We have the wife's MK2 golf on a classic policy through Herts Insurance Consultants, they were good with the price. You need to try brokers like that and Adrian Flux, Footman James, Lancaseter, A-Plan etc etc.

My '89 is on a classic policy.. Hell, my 328i was also apparently!!

THANK YOU Loony.
I have been searching for a insurer for the past 6 months, been getting quotes of £1,000 plus per annum.
With Peter Best thats dropped down to less than £400

Footman James were best for me insuring a 'classic'!
They tend not to deal with modified cars though.

Livingstone Warner mines with. Agreed value £4500, mileage 3k a year, £180 a year.

I may not have tried enough places, but last year I checked a couple of insurers and they wouldn't insure a daily-driver as a classic.
