Ok, sorry about the title but just a little angered by todays events.

Picture this...

I'm in the kitchen just about to raise my freshly made bacon butty to my mouth when I see a (i'll be nice) young lad about 14yrs old ride straight into the side of my car on his BMX.

The damage is below:

This is the lower part of the car, near the cill
Image

Glass will need replacing as this will not polish out.
Image

Does this black panel come off or is it a whole new door?
Image

Now, I asked the lad to get his mum or dad so I could speak to them about it being repaired but I was still waiting 10mins later as the lad said he just lives "over there...."

While I was waiting I noticed two police officers by the shops so I went over and asked there advice on what I should do when I speak with them, they then chose to act on my behalf and go and see the lads parents.

They came back with a contact number and a name and their own contact details if it goes pair shaped.

It's gone pair shaped within 5mins of the police officers leaving my house as the lads dad came over and protests all innocence and said his son never even touched the car, even though he's stood there and admitted it infront of me and his dad at the time (no wonder society is in tatters).

He walked off saying he's not going to pay and he'll see me in court.

So thats the story, not sure what to do next but am more interested in where to get the parts from? i'll need a new O/S/F glass, that black panel (anyone got a name for that?) and some touch up on the lower part of the car.

Cheapest as possible places in the Northwest would be great as it already looks like i'll have to pay for this.

Thanks in advance
Craig :D

This sort of story is a very sad indictment on the society in which we now live.
When I was a lad - waaaay before anyone had ever thought of BMX's - it would have gone something like this.....
Lad rides bike into car.
Car owner challenges lad.
Lad protests.
Owner goes to see lads dad.
Dad gives lad thick ear and apologises profusely to owner.
Dad stumps-up some "compensation" to owner.
Lad has pocket money stopped until dad sees fit to resume it.

If police had got involved, lad would have got a lot more than a thick ear from dad.

PC society sucks big-time.
This is why I no longer drive an E30......

Just wait. Maybe you will move house before that piece of shit does, and if so a bit of decoration is in order. The police and courts will do nothing, so take it into your own hands.

get a dictaphone, and get the lad to admit he done it then take it to the police, if that fails run over the lads bike, reverse over it, park on it, get out the car, calmly spark up a fag, look down at the bike smile and laugh...
then say the lad must have parked his bike under your car.... winkeye

the police are unlikely to do anything else and will treat it as a civil matter, it can't be classed as criminal damage as it wasn't deliberate.

You could go the small claims court route, depends on how much grief you want on your doorstep really mate.

Like Andyboy said, your own methods may be more satisfying, i'm sure his old man would appreciate some cosmetic modifications to his mode of transport

5 steps to retribution
Buy a cheap bike
Buy duvet
Turn bike into battle bike
Wrap youself in duvet and cellotape
Take a long run up and smash battle bike into the lads dads car.

Inform lads dad you didn't do it, and its not even your bike and go home smug. Then errect CCTV.

Alternativly go on holiday or arrange watertight alliby, and have a good friend cause some chaos.

Or get hold of home telephone number and put a personal ad/car ad/sex toy/stained bed ad in the local freeads.

Freeze a banana and throw it through the car window, when it thaws they'll wonder how a banana smashed the window and isn't bruised.

Superglue all the wipers down on dads car, (would be days in good weather before its noticed!).

Wait till the go on holiday and poke a leaf blower through the letter box and drop grass seed in through the front door, then water it in using a hose, when they return from holiday there will be a lawn in there hall! (only works if they have carpet)

want any more? winkeye

I think best thing to do would be to repair the car yourself as it'll cost less than pursuing your case with the guilty parties, and then to make things even beat the crap out of both of them! and do the same to thier car.

If you have kids get them to jump up and down on his car in front of him and then when he comes calling tell him to fcuk off.
Solves nothing but puts a smile on your face.

i have done this before, and it works well!!!!
put some gloves on, if you have a dog pick up the freshest bigest slimeyest smellyest piece of crap you can get,
then proceed to put it under his car door handles "best if he has handles like the e30 for best results you can really pack it in there" and clean up any mess so he has no idea, then next time he opens the car door he gets crappy hands.........

Try the police first especialy as the officers gave you their number.as said above the kid is old enough to be dealt with by the law for his actions.

I've been close to some cars before, only because they only just leave enough room for a thin(ish) person to walk through the gap, inconsiderate tw@ts!

I did once damage a car, but the dosey cow in the car opened the door as I was riding by

some very good advice here, love the fun side to it too.

I have my morrals about me and only thinking about getting my revenge back on a tit-4-tat basis only frustrates me! I would never go down to their level.

I know one of the local police officers, well, PCSO will be speaking with him tomorrow if he's at home if not it'll be Wednesday. In the meantime i've been intouch with the two police officers that dealt with it and am just waiting a reply from them.

My theory and feelings are that i'm hoping 'a' police officer will pay them another visit and gently explain that because i'm so discusted with his outrageous behaviour I would rather pay for the work myself than have any more dealings with these people.

People like this REALLY frustrate the hell outta me the shallow mindedness and attitude makes me VERY angry!!

I just can't wait now till 2008 as i'll be moving 80miles down south to start a new life...!!

unfortunately theres only one language people like this understand and that involves beating the message into them. wait until theyre all sleeping during the night and sneak over ,pour some petrol through their letterbox and set it alight. stand back and laugh merrily as they get carried out covered in black soot and choking like a 60 a day smoker by a burly fireman.

that last part was obviously a joke by the way

I should hope so, if there smoke alarm is not working you could end up getting life in prison.
Bring back the good old days when you could just beat the shit out of them and the police would just take a statment and then go back to the pub.
