Went to my local dealership this morning and parked up next to this mint dolphin grey sport, got chatting to the owner and his dad (top guys) and it turns out that he actually bought it from Les Stannard himself and it's actually a fully sorted 2.7...Must go like sh1t of a shovel :burn:

Not many of these about, pretty sure there's been a few zoners who have had these...Karan to name one.

I do have pic's but there on my phone, will try to get some up..

Pal,remember the Les Stannard Tec1 I went after a couple of years ago?
Black with 16" Borbet C`s(?).
I bid well over my budget @ £1300 ish but just kept getting outbid.
I managed to get hold of and speak to Les Stannard himself. He told me the said car had been magazine featured a few times and was actually one of the first 2.7`s he built(as a gift to his eldest son).
Apparently the first built ones had different cam specs etc and went like stink!
Ebay winner joined the zone a few weeks later as it happens(think just to rub my nose in it  ) but havent seen his name on here for ages.

Hi Tony,

This particular 2.7 is a 88' E reg...I did ask the guy if he used the zone, he said he had heard of it :) but didn't have internet at home, so didn't visit the forum. He actually paid £3k for it, not to long ago, about a month.

it just amazes me, how many sorted e30's there are out there, that people have never seen, or are just parked up in a garage, by their owner...

This chap also has a 325i Sport, that get's taken out, once in a while...he said, that he loved the poke so much from the 2.7, he's using it every day!!

I believe Ste owned the car before Karan. Karan then bought it and had a PROPER 2.7 done. Then it got sold on...

Karan 'diffed' it many of time! The man is a proper 'differ'!

Not quite. I originally had the engine built by Les, and it was in my car for several years. Ste bought the engine from me when I did my 3.2 S50 conversion, and fitted it to GUG. Ste's brother had the car briefly before Karan bought it.
