Since I bought the car I am sure that these recaro seats are not factory install. I can't find seats like these in any e30 around here...OK they are recaros made for BMW but from what model and year?
Are these better than BMW sport ones?
here are the pics:

They are proper Recaros - rather than the usual BMW sport seats which are not Recaros.

They were an (expensive) option when new. Ant and Johno have them in their motors and they are very cool.

they are not retrimed, and headrests are original too, pictures are bad so can't be seen proper.
Well, I figured they are ''monster'' because everyone ask me: would you sell them?
Didn't know they are such rare and expensive option, always thought that sport ones are better.
Well then, I need to keep this treasure winkeye
BTW, for you guys with same seats, are you pleased with them, better than sport ones? These are great, feels like a racing car and comfortable a lot.

I have them too(allthough mine are crying out for a re-trim), I didn't realise what they were untill billgates pointed them out at a ferrybridge meet ages ago.

As far as i'm aware these were an option even in the m3

I got a set.. (from a 635csi) and in black leather! VERY comfortable and wouldn't give it up for anything!! I have the different style with a rotary handle for recline as opposed to the lever. Only problem is, I need to adjust them as they have a fair bit of play

thats because they were theo's before they had a very expensive cow's arse sprawled all over them :P

(that is as in they were retrimmed, not as in some fat lass from fat fighters sat on them............just thought i would clear that up as i know how you bunch of reprobates' minds work)

Agreed , superb seats but they do lack the tilt function which I do miss.

I keep my drivers under wraps, its mint unlike me most of the time

Much nicer to sit in than the sports seats, need a foam lower bolster for the drivers though as unlike Bill Gates's mine looks like its been near the wrong sort of cows arse :)
