I don't condone drifting on a public road... license, other peoples safety, your own safety etc.

My dad kicks the arse end out every so often, seem to get more praised than abused though :?

We was close to hitting an artic lorry, then the curb it can go horribly wrong sometimes...

Yes!

I had a young bloke walking down my road come and have a go at me because my (very small) drift scared his dog! :?

Agree with Dazleeds and Maxfield though, there are times and places when you don't put other road users or padestrians at risk. That just isn't fair. :nono:

I've had thumbs up from some people too though after a little slither! :D

Expect to be grilled by a few people on here on this subject though! :)

i love it but def keep it to deserted car park at night or something, just to easy to go very wrong very quick.

no LSD and distinct lack of skill would put and end to my fun rather quickly methinks :o:

Kicking the back end out on a roundabout or wet corner isnt drifting.

And 'drifting' on the public roads is f*cking retarded, twat.

i lost the back end on a round about a while back in the wet, and nearly hit a car next to me, if a powerful car can do that just going round a roundabout, then drifting can have serious consequences if you lose it on a public road.

i do realise that kicking the back end out out of a corner or coming off a roundabout technically isnt drifting. and when it does step out it just feels so controllable so easy so predictable, so easy to maintain and then straighten it up again, just as fast as it went sideways. i dont know how people manage to spin these things, they must be asleep or sumat!!

the very fact that this question has been asked is a major concern.

If you dont understand why you got called a w4nker, you mustn't have an understanding of the risks which you're taking and the danger involved. If you dont understand those, you shouldn't be driving

I'm not saying I havent tried to get the arse out and got it right or wrong but I would fully understand if someone started giving me a load of shit for doing it and why

i hate this sort of question - if you can't find private land to try it on then don't do it. you clearly don't care about yourself or your car which is fine but abuse it somewhere safely and away from normal roadusers.

you consider "drifting" at 20mph to be driving with skill?

id rather practice at 20 mph to get the hang of it first. rather than go out into derbyshire at night and try it at 60-70 and end up upside down in a ditch with no phone signal to call a taxi or ambulance for that matter!!

I would never do anything like that on a public road, ever! My sig photo was taken in a deserted car park in the middle of the countryside. After I had to take the dust-covered touring straight to the jet wash. In fact, I won't be doing that again as even in the car park it felt like I was abusing the car; maybe pathetic, but honest. :o:

its not abusing it, just got to watch for overrevving it on loose surfaces. will give your open or lsd diff a bit of a workout too. will knacker your tyres, ripping chunks off them for example. track days are far far more abuse for a road car even performance cars than 10 mins of arsing bout in a gravel car park!

Same for me... 254 miles. 4 hours at legal speeds. (my car vibrates like a c*nt over 72 :x )

Well worth it.

The next one is £75 for the weekend, virtually no queueing, 8 hours a day track time for two days, camping included.

Its a 'no bells and whistles' affair, tyres to mark the tracks, an area to park your car/change tyres, a tyre van, a burger van, some portaloos, and a whole lotta fun!

sign up on trampdrift. Plenty of people from up north on there that can point you in the right direction.

I doubt many zoners will go, not enough prizes for shiniest bbs and there's no bingo hall.

Sometimes you have to take the pain with the pleasure... it really is worth it.

Its mtorway most of the way except the last 30 or 40 miles... and thats on nice welsh roads. winkeye

You really wont find more fun, track time and freedom to be a hooligan anywhere else for the money.
