E30 Zone

just found this really usefull site.

just bought a black 318is coupe black e30 H reg 1991

Its got a high miles of 150k but the bloke who I bought it off has owned it for 11 years and just 1 previous owner before him.

I need to spend some money on it though,

Need to work out what to do

a good restoration or a quick tidy up job - prob the latter as I bought this as a cheap run about - cheap insurance with decent performance and ok MPG plus the car will not go down in value as I got it for a good price.

Its got a nice spec, it has the electric pack, and RHR's and headlight wipers although they have been snapped off

Any idea where I can buy some wipers on the cheap, BMW are asking over £90 pounds

Also the center caps for the BBS are missing, thing is they seem to cost £10 - £15 each when you take into consideration postage yet I've seen a set of 15" BBS wheels inc caps for £100

I remember reading somewhere a K&N filter is a good upgrade - is this correct,

I'll take some pictures of it soon - need to buy a digital camera.

Also its got rust on rear wheel arches, not serious but want to get it sorted so will speak to my local body shop.

Ideally I'd like a set of 16" Alpina's as well but once I have some more money saved up I might sell this and go for a 325i sport 1990-1991 in silver or grey or even white.

This is just to keep me going I don't want to spend too much money on it.

I read that a good filter, chip and exhaust can give good gains on an iS.

mine is at about 150 bhp with piercross induction kit,superchip,cams and cat back stainless steel system

mine is also black too!!

You can buy windshield wipers at Halfords for about 15 quid, if I recall correctly, and they are actually very good.

Think he meant headlight wipers mate.

That was a cheap set of bbs wheels. I sold mine for double that.

Headlight wipers suck. I'd remove them.

I have headlight wipers here - let me know if you want some.

Ditto re the BBS wheel set - a very good price!

150 bhp - nice, how much did that lot come to chicken?

the cat back was 250

and the pipercoss was 80 quid

the cams and superchip were done by the previous owner
