White really isn't the new black is it...
Why have you painted your exhaust matt?

I know someone who some years ago painted all the windows (except the windscreen) with matt black paint,on a Rover SD1.

'tis true i tell ya, just made all the more cool by the tossers that stick as many / as big shiney pipes as they can on their crap boxes.
there's a corsa down the road with 2 5in 'jap style' tailpipes, sounds like you'd imagine an elephant arse to the morning after a night on the beers followed by a strong curry.
in contrast, when the exhaust rusted on the lancia i binned the twin slash cut shiney standard pipes for a single 2.5in bit of matt black pipe and a straight through silencer. flows better than standard, sounds fantastic, doesnt make me look like a twat.
job done

I've got a matt black exhaust tip, looks fine
Well I say tip, I used VHT paint from the downpipe back, shame it all scrapped off, damn speed bumps.

next time you run over a pensioner neil they will be thinking "black really suits that exhaust" as the back box bounces off their forehead.

how odd - I did this about a year ago
It makes the exhaust kind of invisible, but my boss at work noticed it (he used to have an E30).

More likely"that exhaust sounds much nicer than that other 2.0 white touring that hit me".....

I've got a reciept for a new exhaust from the previous owner and all i could find was a nice rusty chrome tip on the end, i wonder how many hundreds she was charged for that
I've now got rid of that and now need to paint the end, i was going to use rycote vht paint but i'm wondering how well that will stand up to the conditions.

Halfords paint as used on mine will apparently take 650oC....
