hire a van and enlist the help of 3 sturdy mates.even my little ford 4 pot required 4 of us to lift it on the van.

My touring has been used to transport 3 engines so far.

When I had the m20 in the back and a 1.6 m40 up front it struggled a bit but I managed to persuade a random pisshead that the one in the back was hoked up and it was twin engined and 4x4... so it was worth it.

My interior is f*cked though and it smells of oil.

pallet delivers dont cost about £50 i think, roll the engine onto pallet, tie it down and get someone else have hassle of loading and unloading.

I recently picked up a 325i engine and box complete with all ancillaries. To move it, I hired a luton van with tail lift which made the job a doddle. Some ratchet tie downs would be useful too unless you don't mind your engine joining you in the cab under braking!

Some old sheets and another pair of hands sorts me just fine
