E30 Zone

All i need to get done is to spray my front valance of my kit and i want to feature it, always have done, but dunno how?.. is there a easy link through the zone??

well not really,

bar a few cock-ups PBMW hac cleaned up its act, giving features to cars worthy of it, the M3 kitted 320 cabrio in this months issue is an exaple of a cock-up ( i dont think louise will allow any more to get through)

i did fault her a few times in the past, but she seem to have sorted out a few things with the mag that used to annoy me

they want some thing different, because you have a turbo dosent mean you'll get a feature, turbos are old news now, epecially on e30's.

dips and i did turbos on m20's and m30's 4 years ago and were amongst the first in the UK, the M3 which i now own was the uk's first M3 turbo thats why it got its feature back in feb 2005 ( they wanted to do it in summer 2004)

the 2 tone touring which is turbo'd got a feature becuse of the body and look of it, the turbo's a bonus ( that was turbocharged a similar time to the M3)

other feature cars to come from the custom cars stables and get features had unique styling, (goukis and salsports) and goukis had a proven 2.7 as well

now the last custom cars car to get a feature was the green touring which is supercharged, and thats an other first so thats why they wanted to do a feature oh and its minimalist look helped

so not wanting to sound harsh you need to have a great overell car with touches and features to make it stand out from the crowd, clean near perfect body work and paint is near essential but if you cant manage that you need a mental engine

there is no over all combination that works or gurantees a feature, look at dimmys car, 325i sport, turbo, big brakes, suspension mods, leather, TV's and ICE a classic timless look, you'd think that would get a feature?? it didnt, it got readers car corner.

the bar has been raised in the last year or so , its up to you guys to build cars worthy of a feature

But who will actually reach this bar

Point taken and thanks for all the info and advice Kos, but correct me if im wrong, wasnt Gouki's car just shiny red and the only thing different was the front bumper which was sprayed by Dip's???. I also thought that a 2.7 build was also that of the past aswell? i would say that there are more e30's with 2.7 engines than turbo's?? im not saying that i want mine to have 2 pages on it, just a pic and small write up will make me happy!!! you know, just to show my mates..

goukis had a proven 238bhp 2.7 , not many of them about he also had a detailed engine bay

front bumper was different it was a sedi item, the rear was a reiger and sides were a combination of reiger and tech 2, a mix match but it work in a weird way

full vanilla leather, it had i nice ice install as well

the car wasnt to every ones taste, some things is didnt like but it was different and in his words, against the grain

it would be easyer to get it featured in total bmw.cuz youv'e got to spend alot of wonga on a bm worth geting it in to pbmw. As long as u've got a mint bm maybe a few mod's u'll get it in im sure(tbmw). a lads?

TBMW is more for the standard car.

i dissagree, you dont need to spend a lot of money for PBMW, i know salsport didnt.

as max said TBMW tend to go for original cars any modded cars by repected tuners (AC hartge alpina the main ones then CA auto, BBR, Dinan etc) and anything which i call "OE plus" like the e60 5 seris in this recent issue, chuck in a couple of solid well build track day cras and restoration and there is TBMW

what car has salsport got?im sure iv'e seen your car in pbmw? im hoping to get my M Tec 2 325is featured once iv'e finshed it.post sum pic's soon,hopefully it will be at gaydon fingers crossed.

wouldnt know mate but apparently got a fair amount of torque grunt , besides its the paint that does it on that car

its the first uk 2 tone e30, it was done before the blue and white turbo touring

you probably have seen my car in PBMW, the M3 was on front cover feb 2005, did about 2 years of shows now its getting re-done
the IS, the one with the black wheels has had a photo shoot for total BMW, not been in the mag yet , still waiting

Well i can say that mine is the only one ive seen with a vent where it is on the bonnett.. , i'd also say that my bay looks vey smart too... can i e-mail someone a pic of my bay to see what you guys think?

I was contacted by TBMW a while back about a feature, I think they liked all the Hartge bits and the fact its subtle, like you say OE plus

Will have to look into again after the Le Mans stickers and stripes come off

twice PBMW and TOTAL BMW PBMW did a ten of the best last year and invited me along to bruntingthorpe but it went pear shaped .it was the day that the guy rolled his turbod e30 m3 .total came up to scotland just before the summer but mine broke a week before,nothing major but didnt have the time to fix it.they said they would be coming up again after the summer so it should happen eventually.
