My new e30

Just though id post a few pics of my new e30 donor.
Shes an 325 auto SE, high millage but has a good original straight shell, hopefully will get years good service from it.
After seriously stacking my sport at the ring last week, there was no other option but to re shell.
Both chassis rails bent, inner and outer wings, bonnet, front panel, slam panel, bumper and dented pride plus lost of rust in its early and advanced stages mean its not worth saving.
Absolutely gutted to have to break the sport, Ive had her 4 years, just had all the welding done and just about had new everything sorted mechanically.
I will miss the old tech 1, but at least it got killed in action, oh well, onwards and up wards.
Before
After
Many thanks to all the zonners who have offered shells and have been helping me look for a new E30, most appreciated

Gotta say thank you to Andrew (demlot) for all his hard work getting the car ready for the ring, all the good bits can be used on the new shell so all is not lost.
Massive thank you to everyone on the trip who helped get the car roadworthy again for the 600 mile trip back to the Uk nice one, Boybimmer, Demlot, Andyboy, Karan and everyone else who helped out.

) also means that you wont have to fiddle about wth gearbox removal, unless you want to change the clutch?
anyway cathc up with you guildford, i still aint listened to your CD yet,, bloody exams and no cd player in car

Bummer about the tech 1. Although the hero damage to the tech 1 makes the car a worthy monument, like top gear did with the Hilux.
Good lick with the new shell. looks clean. How much did you pay for it?

Cheers Neil, looking forward to getting started on the new turd, have a few plans for it but the main thing will be to re-shell and get it through an MOT.
Still not sure about all this plastic business but one things for sure, its a hell of a lot less rusty than my old tech 1 and has never been welded so all good
