So, is it as easy as it looks to remove cabrio top?

I want to remove my M3 electric top so that I can give the inside rear window a really good polish. It looks like a simple case of remove two nut on each side, plus of course the fuse line. Is ther anything as far as alignment I need to worry about when reinstalling?
Cheers,
jim

yes - count the shims/washers on each bolt - and are there not three bolts on each side? You must put it back exactly the same.

But I wouldn't take it off - I managed to clean mine (using Renovo) in situ.

Three bolts on each site, a little fiddly to get to. Difficult to count shims in situ.

Personally, I wouldn't take it of. Clean it kneeling on your back seats. Shims are a PITA. There is still an amount of lateral play to get around when tightening it all up. YOu have to keep folding/unfolding the roof to get to all the bolts.

Really is un-necessary arse ache and over engineering a situation

Great thanks guys. I guess then I'll try to polish it in place rather than remove it.
Cheers,
