Starting to think its impossible to buy a half decent e30 after a month of searching dogs out i know its early days still but i want to get one by summer. I sort of decided on either a 325i or 318is whichever comes up really; could someone tell me the difference in spec like performance, mpg, extras and whats all this 325i sport, 325e, 325i se all determine or is it crafty sellers confusing me :o: Do they all come with abs, traction control, lsd, air con, all round disc brakes or is it only the sports versions? i just want to know the truth damn you germans confusers

325 E not available in uk SE is omly a trim level not worth paying extra for unless you demand an OBC sport is a handling package and body kit nice but the same results can be achieved without the sport name. 325's have discs all round and all but the very early cars have ABS(from 1987 on) Lsd an optional extra on all cars standard fit on the sports. As for finding one good ones are scarce but if you are prepared to pay you will get one. I know of a sound early four door 325 in gloss black that will be for sale soon pm me if interested.

325i 170bhp 0-60 7.4 anything between 20-30mpg, 318is 136 bhp, the 325 is the best for performance but both cars will have slighlty less bhp due to age.hth

Im keeping my options open with 325i or 318is if i get a tourer 325i makes sense but has to be in white or black but thats second fiddle to what i really want is a 318is 2 door saloon/coupe. The problems encountered so far is owners not knowing what they are selling/misleading ads and just no good ones about with prices varying between £500-5,000 with no real reason.

Anyone knows the 0-60 or in gear times for a 318Is?

I was not sure as long as it has ABS thats main thing, some cars their abs system doubles up as a traction control so i wernt too sure with the E30.

The only reason age will give less power is if the engine isn't properly maintained.

Does ABS make much difference in everyday driving? Can't say I've noticed the lack of it, and the E46 330d and the 1.2 VW Polo I used to drive (back when my dad had lots of money :D ) both had it. I suppose the only time you really wish you had it is when you're brakes have locked up and you're falling off a cliff or something....

318iS does 35mpg+ if you're driving carefully and doing a mix of town driving/motorway. That's based on me doing a 60 mile round trip to work each day doing about 7 miles through stop/start traffic, 12 miles with occasional stops on A roads, and 10 miles motorway. If you want to rant your engine and rev to 5k+ (where the iS really performs) then you'll get about 28mpg i guess.

No idea of the in gear times or 0-60 but it isn't slow once you get above 4k rpm and handles beautifully (or rather it should :P - mine will once the suspension work is completed).

As to which to buy, i've never driven a 325 but i would like to, but judging by the comments from people that have sold a 318iS and wish they'd kept it, i reckon a 325 will be my 'other' car

quote="forty"]90 H plate, with PAS, e/w, e/s/r, r/c/l + alarm, black head lining, tech 1 steering wheel, 15"BBS', OBC & CD player.

It will come with 12 months MOT (due circa 20th apr) & new pads all round.

I have lowered it on gmax springs (35mm drop)
Plus a powerflow full system (down pipe back)
It has a little over 162k miles on the clock with loads of history & runs sweet as a nut.
Im selling it as I want something a bit faster, & I cant be bothered with fitting a 3.5 to it now.

I have the original springs &
I may be able to get hold of a spare engine which will come free with the car

I want £1300 for it, or with a P/X for a modern v6 saloon or GTI.

It is in really good nick, its due for an MOT on the 21st & im not expecting it to fail on much other than the rear pads which will be fitted some time this week. Anyone who buys the car will be supplied with 12months ticket & a really good car winkeye
It also has black kidney grill's as I got bored this weekend & decided to get my spray cans out [/quote]
