E30 Zone

I put an ad on the auto trader website yesterday for my old E30, and I've been emailed by a couple of people who say they are willing to pay the asking price for it. They want to sent a "certified cahier's check drawn from a UK bank" and get a shipper to pick the car up. One of them is based in Germany buying for a client, and the other I don't know where he is. Both are using yahoo.com email addresses - although this may not mean anything..
Sounds very tempting, but is this a scam with fake/forged cheque which will bounce after a couple of days?
I'm tempted to just either ignore the emails or reply back saying only cash will do. What do you guys think?

nothing like the colour of money mate, hang about for some genuine buyer`s who pay in cash, not those flamin timewasters.

Yeh i wouldnt go there mate.Ive been had on ebay by smilar things.People often in differnt countries, somthing not seeming right, wanting to send a wierd payment etc.

If their very serious then get money first, that way you cant be had.

But it say check it out fully as it may be another scam!

You guys seem to be thinking the same as me, I'll just ignore them, I'm not going to take anything but cash in person.

my bro had a similar case from ebay. he sold his car to a zero bidder from edinburgh.. now we are from w london so thought that was odd, cos it was a cheap motor.
anyway the guy contacted him and the scam was that someone owed him some cash.. i think about 3 grand. they send the chq to us and we take out the car money and send the rest up. and someone would pick the car up .. dodgy or what !! by the time you know whats going on, you aint got no cash, the banks know its a dodgey chq and you got no motor ! anyway emailed the dude back and told him to sod off cos it was a scam , by then he was no longer a registered user !

Is that for real Jesus325iTouring? If so, glad to see I'm not the only one. I especially like it when I come to an uphill section with an overtaking lane. See the whole lot behind me pull out as one into the overtakink lane, I drop it down a couple of gears and floor it. If they're lucky, one just about manages to struggle bye, as long as I lift a bit as the cross hatching appears at the end of the overtaking lane.(Not really on to splat them into the front of an oncoming artic).

yo thats a big time scam, it was even on watchdog a few weeks ago, coz so many ppl have been ripped of by this scam, an its mosty nigerian guys doin it (no disrespect to the nigerian community) same thing happend to me too, A guy calles me up wantin to buy my lexus soarer that i had avertised on autotrader, i knew straight away from his voice dat this was a dodgy call) so he says to me he likes my car and wants to buy it, buy he lives all the way in london( im in scotland by the way) so he says he say he'd like to send me a cheque for the full askin price, didnt even try to haggle or bring the price down just wants to send me a cheque for the full amount, and im like "but u havent even seen the car yet, and ur already makin me an offer? and hes like well ive seen the picture of it on autotrader and i like da look of it, so i said to him "u fly up here with the cash an u can drive the car away otherwise stop wasting my time and f.k off"..............end of call.
