I usually hate this kind of thread. The kind where zoners look at E30's on Pistonheads and eBay etc and then all proceed to bitch and take the piss - it's akin to old women gossiping.

BUT!

'This is one of the finest E30's aorund?'

120mm my f*cking arse.

Mine's lower than that and its 100mm/85mm.

Its not toooooo council... tech 2 kit, standard ish... nice wheels. interior is f*cking gash... but the rest looks ok apart from the colour... would be better in matt black.

I wouldn't :piss: on that if it was on fire. How to wreck a great car. 2 things i've observed see if you agree

1. He spends (wastes) all that money and can only afford 3 wheel bolts per wheel (that maybe my eyesight)

2. looking at his quality boot install, how would you rate his handywork and his ability to modify?

£1500 MAX if you were stupid.

I should think it will be one of the slowest e30's with all that ice in it as well. As for the mania wheels well you would have to be suffering from mania to fit them! Its a horrible loking car that might have something decent lurking beneath all the bad taste.

I found it amusing he had to mention he's changed the spark leads. Cos he wanted to take up space in the add!

Even if that thing belonged to a Zoner it'd be ripe for some Council digs. If the car is genuinely okay, he's taken a nice £1500 car and utterly ruined it. I guess it would look good to the Bruvvas croozin' around High Wycombe, innit Bruv?

Maxfield, don't you see the irony of you saying the red 318is on Pistonheads is council? After you get your E30 it won't be long before it's on BarryBoys. Just hope you realise this, and leave your E30 as BMW intended.

I don't want to leave it as it is.

I want to make it how i would want it. Nice and subtle on coilovers with some deep dish wheels and tech 2. I'm not int big body kits and chrome wheels.

Exactly.

All of a sudden the zone seems to have become anti council. Lets face it lots of our cars have council aspects, and?! Doesnt make us council people, not that anybody is suggesting this.

A year or 2 ago on here council cars didnt get slated, but since a few prominant members have been making anti council jokes lots have started. (maxfield this isnt aimed at you!)

I blame the likes of anybody and pacerpete :P :D I personally dont like council stuff much myself, but enjoyed watching it on the zone :)

I agree. Each to their own. It would be a dull world if we all drove the same cars, or modified them exactly the same. Some folk try to keep their cars original, or upgrade with "options available". Others try to be a bit more original. There's obviously been time and money spent on this car (dunno about the ICE install  ).
It's not really what I'd go for, but I suppose the owner enjoyed doing what he's done.

Even if you did take all the "council tatt" off it, it's STILL a four pot wrongness.

I read the thread title and thought maxfield was refering to the grey car in his sig...

Was about to agree as well

just another case of a bmw owner thinking their car is worth more than it really is. pistonheads is full of them.

reminds me of a guy who said he got offered 25k 'cash on the table' for his car.

should have taken it then...

So what was he getting 'under the table'?
