anybody know of a decent bodyshop to take out the dings and paint my E30 Convertible?
Need some recommendations as i dont want a car that looks like a polycell filled up job.
The car ive got has loads of car park dings and the paint has suffered from the previous owners kids washing it with fairy liquid.
Your recommnedations and testimonials appreciated....

I've just had some bits done to my tourer by a guy called Tony at sprint auto-services in stirchley. His number is 01214595924.
He replaced a wing and sorted out another bit of rust for me and did a good job.
He did some work on my cab years ago and repaired my bonnet when that was dented, he did a good job on that too. He's a fan of E30's, i think he's owned a coupld himself.
They always seem to have nice cars in the workshop.

Might need to look at your car to see how good the job -

Be interested if the cost of the job is reasonable - how much for a full respray on a cab? -

I asked my boss just for an idea of what he'd charge...
Good £1K - £2K
Show finish £2K - 3K
The show finish would be a complete strip of the car (as opposed to just masking), complete rust removal and treatment, and then complete undersealing etc once the jobs been completed....the dogs danglies basicly!
I do the flatting work on the cars, and i've told him that i don't stop untill i'm happy that the finish is perfect!
My boss has lots of experience (been spraying for about 12 years), and is a very good sprayer!
I did mention that these cars are owned by enthuisiasts, and therefore he can't cut any corners, or use the old 'that's good enough' line, and i think that reflects in the price.
Not much of a comparison, but we've done 2 golf's that were between £750 and £900 for full resprays!
But then it depends entirely on the condition of your car, and how long you allow for the job to be completed! Those cars were in good nick, with lots of time (about 2 weeks for each)!
If anyone's interested, the place i work is:-
Autostyle
Unit 9 Shaftesbury Street South
Sir Francis Ley Industrial Park
Derby
DE23 8YH
I'd love to work on some e30's as opposed to all the hatch's we seem to get. Although can't complain about the SL500 we've got in at the moment
[Just to point out, i'm not plugging my workplace, and i would only suggest it as i would work on the car, and believer me i would treat it like it was mine, and the finsih would be perfect before it's given back!]

already had a quote from a guy i trust for a complete strip job for 1400 but his top body guy has left now so i am wary of geting it done from him
am looking for somone to do it for less than a grand really.
my cab has no rust but is tired looking and has lots of small dents. I pass derby M42 way on the way up north so if you get a car that has the same kinda work done i would like to see how good a job it is...
unless there are some other recommendations - gotta be someone somewhere
